TOM SHOOK

Tom’s athletic background is quite varied.  As a former Elite Level (CAT 1) cyclist, Tom spent several seasons racing on the European continent as a member of the well-known French racing club CC Wasquehal. He competed in some of the most prestigious amateur races of the time. Amongst his many accomplishments in the sport are high finishes in the amateur versions of the Paris-Roubaix, Tour of Flanders, Grand Prix E3, Ghent-Wevelgem, Het Volk Classic, and the Circuit de la Sarthe. Tom was known as an all-around rider with a fast finishing sprint and an aggressive racing style, winning many domestic events.

In addition to cycling, Tom also had an exceptional career as an amateur boxer and kickboxer. He took his same aggressive style and in your face attitude to the ring where he amassed an overall record of 88 wins and 11 losses, with most of his wins coming by knock out.

Never satisfied with the status quo, Tom took his passion for sports performance and his tireless work ethic into the academic arena. He completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science by graduating Summa Cum Laude from California University of PA. Tom has conducted graduate level studies in Sports Medicine and Biology and is currently attending the FNP/PA program at UC Davis’ School of Medicine. He has co-authored several peer reviewed journal articles on various sports medicine related topics.

Tom is a licensed USA Cycling coach and is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well has holding several specialty certifications in coaching. Above all else Tom considers the pursuit of physical fitness a life-long passion, and he enjoys working with athletes at all levels. He has trained cyclists, cross-country runners, boxers, MMA competitors, business executives, public safety officers, and even youth soccer players! His ability to analyze the specific demands of a sport and apply sound principals for performance enhancement makes him one of the best athletic development coaches in the business.
